Georgia Hardinge studied fashion design at Parsons Paris School before moving to London and launching her eponymous label.
Georgia has been collaborating with many brands in the last six years, from Victoria’s Secret to Lancome and River Island to name a few. Most recently, she had an exclusive collaboration with the Elephant Family charity and Hardinge’s work was displayed in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Forty sculptural pieces of this work were later created to be displayed at Selfridges.
Georgia has also been awarded the Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s One’s To Watch award, as well as being granted a Contemporary sponsorship award from the British Fashion Council.
Her strong design aesthetic is influenced by her passion for architecture and sculpture.
We love the originality of Georgia’s brand, innovative approach and her unique pleating techniques she developed from paper sculptures. To say we are impressed is an understatement!

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND GEORGIA HARDINGE BRAND ETHOS & PHILOSOPHY?
I have always had a strong interest in art and design. My brand incorporates a strong sculptural style bringing a 3dimentional approach to wearable pieces. I want to create beautiful pieces that are easy to wear whilst still embodying the brand’s structured aesthetic.
WE LOVE YOUR AESTHETIC & THE INFLUENCE OF ART IN YOUR DESIGNS. WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?
Im inspired by sculpture and architecture and how that can be translated in to clothing and free flowing fabrics. I love manipulate materials to give them depth, shadows and movement. I love the idea of smth to look 3D and solid but in fact it’s soft and fluid.
WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
With Prefall 2017 finished, we are moving on to creating our AW17 collection to be ready for February. On top of this we have a new collaboration in the pipe-lines. I think 2017 will be a great year for us!
ADVICE FOR THE UP-AND-COMING FASHION DESIGNERS OUT THERE?
Create your own unique aesthetic and stay true to it. Set yourself aside from other designers in the industry and make sure to work for other labels before you do your own label!
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR DREAM SHOOT OR COLLABORATION?
I would love to collaborate with a scientist and technology to make bio degradable three dimensional clothing. That you can design yourself and 3D print at home. Wear them for a while then change it to create something new! Wouldn’t that be great.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR CAREER TO DATE?
Creating a sculptural piece for the Victoria and Albert Museum.
FAVOURITE WORDS OR QUOTE YOU LIVE BY?
I’m not good with words! I’m better with my hands.
WHAT ITEMS ARE ON YOUR WISHLIST FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON?
A steamer and heat press that would speed things up in the studio! I am also a big fan of Gucci’s recent collections. You can find a lot of their items on my wish list!
